Hey all,

I steered clear of STO due to the lack of content / polish, however I'm getting overcome with the need for a Sci-Fi/Space MMO, looking around there doesent seem to be a trail as such, just one where you have to acquire a buddy key.

Does anyone happen to have one left? - If the game is still unpolished etc I'd rather find out on a trail basis!

Thanks

From http://www.incgamers.com/News/21015/star-trek-online-meaningful-death-penalty-needed--

Star Trek Online's executive producer Craig Zinkievich has told IncGamers that some sort of death penalty is under consideration for the game, though not in the usual sense of the term.

The lack of any meaningful death penalty in STO is a hot topic among players. Some feel that without any real punishment for being defeated, players are less careful with their ships and characters than they should ...

The first week of Open Beta has been amazing!

We have seen more signups and players than we ever imagined we could. So very many people have shown interest in Star Trek Online and logged in to play that we've actually had to scramble to support everyone. Our core engineers are this very second working like crazed technology wielding madmen to improve performance and stability across the board. We're also adding a ...

awesome, ive dug out a command pad attachment for my keyboard, and have setup a macro for it. Ive decided to bind one of the fire all weapons command to numpad 5, without numlock on, this way when i press my commadn key, it will spam 'fire all', without it affecting chat. I can now easily fight and move around without it making chat impossible. It also frees up the key i also had asigned to fire weaps to go back to being my vent button. YAY ME!

We look at the soft canon like novels and comics, but we don't feel compelled to use everything from them. Some things, like the "Countdown" comic series, fit perfectly, so we ...

Ships in Star Trek Online are as much a part of your avatar as your captain or Bridge Officers. They’re highly customizable, both cosmetically and functionally. Visiting a ship “tailor” will allow you to change the color of your ship, the nacelles, the neck and/or nacelle pylons, its saucer, its name, its registry number and so on. And since ships have paperdolls and Bridge Officer stations, the decisions you make in how you outfit the ship’s weaponry, impulse engines, ...

There will be six ranks through which to progress at launch:
